Certified Expressive Arts Therapist and Holistic Wellness Coach
After years of suffering through seasonal mood swings, I lost patience. In 1998, I vowed to stop letting my emotions control me. Since that time I have learned a lot about how to recover and maintain my own wellness. With this blog, I hope to share what I have learned and provide a forum for others to do so as well. My vision for the future is to create a real world therapeutic community center where people can access resources and help each other recover from mental and emotional distress.
My
own process of recovering my own mental health and wellness is what
inspired me to become a counselor. The help I found along the way was never quite what I wanted and needed: the
most true and
lasting changes I've made have been through self help and self care. I
believe that the best I can do is empower you in your unique
journey through listening, sharing information, providing support,
and making available an outside perspective.
My integrated approach incorporates Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy,
Maslow's Heirarchy of Needs, Holistic Wellness, Mental Health
Recovery and Empowerment, and Peer Support. Ask me about what all this means if you're interested in learning more.
I specialize in working with people taking a path less-traveled who have had difficulty finding an understanding and culturally savvy therapist. Your path may include LGBTQQI2-S identity, open relationships, kinky sexuality, fat-positivity, sex-positivity, genderqueer identity, sex work, or a creative career path. I am ready to help you work toward your goals whether being out of the mainstream is at the forefront of your current struggle or just a part of your life.
